How Does My Pet
Receive Treatment?
Patients come to us one of two ways:
- You come to us directly for a specific heartcare need
- Your family veterinarian spots an abnormality and bring us to their office as the cardiology experts.
On our first visit, one of our doctors will perform a complete cardiac examination of your pet. This typically includes an echocardiogram, a systemic blood pressure and diagnostic ECG. Basically, we conduct a detailed evaluation of the anatomy and function of your pet’s heart and arteries. Sometimes we find something that will cause us to need more testing if necessary.
Based on our exam, we will diagnose the condition and create a plan for the specific needs or concerns of your pet.
What to Expect
from Cardiac Care At Our Clinic
- Prior to your office visit, we will let you know how much it is going to cost. We won’t surprise you by only quoting an office visit fee, knowing you are coming for diagnostic testing as well. We’ll make sure the cost we give you matches what you’ll actually pay when you visit us. Sometimes we find something that requires some additional testing. If this happens, we will provide you with an appropriate estimate before we proceed.
- You will confirm your appointment with an online deposit. The deposit is refundable up to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. If you need to reschedule, please contact us right away so you can avoid any late cancellation or no show fees.

Our team will be there to greet you when you arrive. They will escort you to a quiet and comfortable exam room that has been prepared just for you.
One of our staff will chat with you about your pet’s health and collect a non-invasive blood pressure and electrocardiogram test. Your cardiologist will review the results prior to their conversation with you. We will then complete an echocardiogram in our dedicated Echo Labs.

After the diagnostic testing, we will review our findings and discuss a treatment plan.

What To Expect From Cardiac Care At Your Veterinarian's Office
We will evaluate your pet in the familiar environment of your family veterinarian’s office.
You will schedule a drop-off appointment with your family veterinarian for the evaluation. Though you won’t meet our doctors personally, we promise to treat each pet as our own.
After we conduct a complete cardiac examination, we will discuss the results with your family veterinarian. We will then go over our recommended treatment and monitoring plan.
At the conclusion of the consultation, your veterinarian will have all the information and tools needed to move forward. If they ever have any questions, we are just a phone call away.
